Chris Brennan, Chair of Governors

Chris Brennan works in academic publishing for the Emerald Group based in Bingley. Previously he lectured at Leeds Beckett University and was a freelance journalist for many years. He is currently studying towards a MA in media and holds a PGCAP qualification. Chris joined the Governing Body as a Parent Governor and is currently the Chair of Governors.

Roger Broadie, Vice-Chair of Governors

Roger has spent most of his career in the education technology industry, working with a wide range of organisations and of course, schools. This experience has seen him experience how some schools succeed in providing exceptional learning through a broad, exciting and engaging curriculum, nurturing the progress of each child in a culture where all succeed. Roger’s hope and belief is that Akroydon Primary Academy is on a journey to achieve this, and as a Governor he is determined to help realise this vision.

Samantha Sutcliffe, Parent Governor 

Samantha is a Chartered Certified Accountant and is a partner in a local Accountancy Practice. With two daughters, she has gained a great deal of voluntary experience in the sports field and in supporting the Halifax Rotary Club. As a local resident, Samantha has been a Parent Governor since 2012. During this time she has drawn together all her experience gained from both her professional life and private life to help support the academy, the management team, and most importantly, the pupils it is responsible for.
